  2. It is high time that the number of digits be made the same in all banks in India, including cooperative and schedules banks.Due to non-uniformity itis presently not possible to transfer money from even one nationalised bank to another even in your own/relative's account

    1. You are right sir...as you have said there is a non-uniformity...i think to remove this non-uniformity RBI has to provide strict guidelines for Account number uni-formation...

  6. I am unable to have a successful money transfer from sbi to kotak. Kotak has 10 digit account number. Is there any orefix required?

    1. Normally first 3 or 4 digits of bank account number defines branch code in many banks so we can't say it is from which bank but you can check 11 digits account number from above chart...

      in banking system lien amount means block a particular amount in your account....
